Cape Meares Lighthouse |

The lighthouse on Cape Meares was established in 1890 a few miles south of Tillamook to facilitate coastal navigation. It was decomissioned by the Coast Guard in 1963. The stubby little tower is only 38 feet tall but it is perched high on a cliff 200 feet above the ocean. Today the lighthouse is maintained by the Oregon State Park system and is open to visitation during part of the year. |
